Bio:

Rei graduated from Harvard University in 2015 with a degree in physics. He has deep experience in the field of education, both as a teacher and as an administrator. During his undergraduate degree, Rei worked as a teaching assistant in the computer science department, and was also heavily involved with a student organization which planned educational summer programs for Japanese high school students. After graduating, Rei initially working at a Japanese trading company, before joining Tokyo Academics, where he is now a senior instructor. Rei has taught a wide breadth of courses during his four years at Tokyo Academics – including test prep, STEM, history, essay writing, and more – and has also led curriculum and course development in many of these subjects.

Rei is also very passionate about music; he has performed throughout the world in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Berlin Philharmonie, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in cello performance at the Manhattan School of Music. He hopes to eventually bring together his passion for education and music, and use music and art to help students of all ages think more critically and creatively about the world.
