Bio:
Hana graduated from the University of Chicago with an MA in International Relations, as well as a BA in Anthropology and a BA in English Language and Literature.
In 2021, she published a paper on human rights violations, particularly women’s rights, in Egypt caused by crackdowns in national security policies following the Arab Spring. Previously, her BA thesis critiquing space management and campaigning methods of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics based on interviews with Tokyo residents received Honors in 2020.
During her undergraduate career, she was on the Dean’s List in 2018 and 2019, a Lawrence A. Kimpton fellow, and a Jeff Metcalf Grant recipient. She also has a background in theatre and the arts and worked for 4 years in several arts administration positions.
In her three years of teaching experience, Hana has worked with elementary, high school, undergraduate, and adult learners of diverse backgrounds. Her teaching method focuses on creating tailored, consistent, and results-oriented learning plans in close collaboration with students and families. Her goal with any student is to develop lasting skills in breaking down a larger goal as the accumulation of everyday learning habits and to build their confidence as well-rounded learner, problem solver, and self-motivator.
Originally from Cairo and having lived in a variety of countries, Hana has experience with a range of academic programs and standardized testing. She has completed an IB Bilingual Diploma in Arabic and English, received a 4 in AP® World History and a 34 on the ACT, and has taken several SAT® Subject Tests.
