Born and raised in Wisconsin, U.S.A., Nick was surrounded by engineers in his family and naturally connected with Math and Physics ever since middle school. His interest and skill in these topics led to other students congregating around him during high school AP and ACT preparations, which became his first experience at tutoring.
Nick pursued a bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering at Michigan Tech. (graduating magna cum laude) where his interest in education and engineering design blossomed. Since moving to Tokyo in 2022, Nick entered Tokyo Institute of Technology on a full-ride scholarship to refine his skills in systems and control engineering for real-life engineering design. Nick has published research from projects for the U.S. Navy and Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) to realize future technological advancements in society.
Nick is passionate about developing lifelong learners through building individual confidence. Nick strives to help students identify what they are struggling with, why they struggle with it, and then showing them the direction to bolster their skills. Nick understands that it is easy to get discouraged in ambitious academic endeavors, so he is eager to patiently understand each students situation to meet them and encourage them where they are at.
Nick has tutored a wide range of students from elementary school to university level. Nick works hard to help students know not only “how” to complete their school work, but “why” it works, therefore developing a thorough understanding of the topic to achieve success in any endeavor in the future whether it be standardized tests, school entrance exams, or research.
Outside working hours, Nick loves reading books with his family, sometimes leveraging his deep voice to lull his son to sleep. He will be careful to not use this magic power during his lessons!
