Never have I had a teacher so supportive and respectful. I’ve been saved by your efforts multiple times and I can never thank you enough for it. From the time we spent covering AP® World History material to helping me write college applications, I couldn’t have made it without you and your help. As I move onto college (thanks to all the help), I’ll truly miss you, the people at TA, and the office. Being able to learn from teachers like you has helped changed my life and I can’t stress enough how impactful your work is to a student like me. Again, thank you so much for all the help these past few years.
Wow! 11 point increase in MAP math when starting at 99%! That is fabulous. I am so thrilled with how you worked and taught Ella this year. We can’t thank you enough. You helped Ella to get a high enough score on her ACT to make it into the CTY advanced math program too. It’s been the easiest year for us family having you as her math tutor.
I can’t believe I’m graduating already! It feels like just yesterday I was attending the SAT® class at Tokyo Academics during the summer. My consultant single-handedly changed my life—no exaggeration. I remember our first conversation about my university goals and future plans, and the look they gave me when they saw my sophomore year grades, haha! From the bottom of my heart, I truly want to thank my consultant for never giving up on me. They were the greatest role model I could have asked for. Thank you for shaping me into the person I am today.
I can say with certainty that my consultant has had the single most significant influence on my high school career. Ever since our first AP® World History DBQ lesson and the group class sessions that followed, he has given me tremendous support and guidance in every way possible. It was a major turning point in my life (haha, get it?). He made me genuinely enjoy learning, and I looked forward to our weekly AP®WH group lessons. Thanks to his incredible teaching, I did really well in the class.
It didn’t take long before I came to rely heavily on his wisdom. I’ve never felt as comfortable or honest with a teacher-like figure before, and I believe it’s because he shows an unmatched level of care. I constantly found myself thinking, ‘What would he tell me to do?’ His influence extends far beyond the classroom at Tokyo Academics—he’s become a part of the way I think and make decisions.
So much of my success is owed to the academic and emotional support he provided. I can confidently say I have learned more from him than from any other teacher or counselor. His commitment to his students’ happiness is inspiring, and it’s incredible to see how tirelessly he works to share his immense knowledge with us.
I can’t believe the time has come for me to write you this letter (not to mention graduate). I also can’t believe it’s been 2 years since you took me under your wise wing and started tutoring me. Tbh when I first saw you at TA, I thought to myself, “Why is he so energetic at 9 in the morning?!” Thank you for everything you’ve helped me through these past few years. I’m not even kidding, I would probably be a hella panicking teenager if it weren’t for your constant support. You’ve seriously helped me through so many hurdles in life. You’re one of my biggest role models in life, and I’m eternally grateful I got to be your student.
From English papers to college applications and even occasional STEM help, I can’t thank my counselor at Tokyo Academics enough. I’ve encountered my fair share of teachers—the good, the bad, and the okay—but he truly made the greatest impact on me. He inspired not only me but also many of my friends, even when we didn’t make it easy. He was tough on me at times, and I’m so grateful for it now because he pushed me to become a much better writer. I owe so much of my self-confidence and accomplishments to him. I don’t know where I’d be without his guidance. He was more than just a tutor, and I’ll carry his lessons with me wherever I go. I’m truly thankful for his unwavering belief in me and for showing me what I’m capable of.
As you may know, AP® scores came out. I just wanted to share that I got a five on the AP® Calculus BC exam! I wanted to thank you for all the help and guidance you have given me for both AP® Calculus AB and BC. Thank you once again for all the help throughout the year.
I’m incredibly grateful for everything my counselor has done for me. He was not just a tutor but truly a mentor, motivating me to put in the work to reach my goals. He taught me that success isn’t instant—I needed to envision my goals, set smaller checkpoints, and not be afraid to fail. Even though I’ll be leaving Tokyo, I’ll always remember those grind sessions.
My counselor brought out the most creative parts of me when we workshopped pieces together. Unafraid to be myself, I presented my most genuine voice in my writing while getting insight into the artistry that goes into great writing. My counselor is a wealth of knowledge, with so many crazy suggestions and ideas. It was a true honor working with him—I have come out of the experience with an improved capacity to write with a unique voice and think critically and creatively. I definitely finished the experience as a better person, owed to the incredible person my counselor is. Despite the stresses of this time of year, I would certainly do this all again for the opportunity to work with him again.
I highly recommend TA’s essay counseling! College essays are often overwhelming, but this counseling definitely reduces the stress and helps you to write what exactly you are trying to tell. Additionally, throughout the counseling, I was able to figure out what I really want from a college education, and I’m grateful that I chose TA!
I learned and gained a lot out of the essay counseling process at Tokyo Academics. My counselor helped me decide on an essay topic and narrow in on themes and ideas that I wanted to highlight, which is what I think made my essays stand out. By the end of the process, my essays were genuine, well-written, and concise, and would not have been as focused or polished without the help of TA. Not to mention, My counselor was very fun to work with and always makes essay-counseling student-centered; it’s obvious that he wants what’s best for his students and wants to make the essay-writing process as enjoyable and engaging as possible.
I’ve had the privilege to know my counselor for around five years now, and he helped me get into both boarding school and college. I especially enjoyed working with my counselor during my college process because he made lessons worthwhile. Every lesson was both productive and fun; we would get more than enough work done while leaving room to catch up every time we met. Most importantly, these essays got me into my first choice college early!
Tokyo Academics has been a small miracle in our lives and I am truly grateful. Our tutor made a real connection with our son, who responded very well to the tutor’s easy going personality. I had the best tutor ever! He helped me study for my math tests and I did very well on those tests. He also helps me add more detail to my essays and make them the better. My tutor was very helpful, especially because he went over things that I had trouble understanding. He explained to me with examples and easy keywords to remember things. He also related everything together which made it easier for me to understand and remember each chapter.
Our tutor was great at teaching because my daughter said that his method was very efficient for her. She used to take SSAT course at Kaplan Tokyo, but nothing can be compared to his method.
