Biography
Jessica is a dedicated and friendly Astrophysicist. She completed her undergraduate studies in Physics at the University of Warwick, achieving top grades and securing a place in the highly competitive Part III Astrophysics Masters program at Cambridge University. There, she specialised in Cosmology, and published her masters thesis research on measuring the expansion of the universe using supernovae. She subsequently earned a competitive scholarship for a joint PhD program between the University of Oxford and the University of Tokyo, concentrating on “Cosmology from Non-Gaussian Statistics.” Her research involves using simulations of the universe to test current cosmological theories. In her free time she in an active member of the University of Tokyo Kendo team, and is often travelling for competitions on the weekends! She has also spent many years teaching English to Japanese students.
